Old tower system (R1 - 022)
Strategically placed towers offer panoramic views, enabling detection of movements and reinforcing control, blending defense with territorial organization.
The territory was not open
This tower did not stand alone. It was part of a system.
Following the Christian conquest, the territory was reorganised to facilitate better control. The towers were positioned at strategic points, visually connected to one another.
From here, one could see and be seen. This made it possible to detect movements, anticipate dangers and maintain control over a vast area.
The landscape was not neutral. It was organised to be monitored.
This system was not only used for defence. It also structured the territory and reinforced power.
